Buddy Ebsen
Sometimes, it's not what you did that you're remembered for, but something you didn't do. (I think that's a line out of Masked & Anonymous, or it could be.) But it's funny that almost every obit of Buddy Ebsen that I've seen or heard today talks about how he didn't make the cut as the Thin Man because of his allergies to the makeup.
The best I've heard was just a few minutes ago on All Things Considered, which didn't mention Oz, and did talk about the musical he wrote in the 80s.

Exonerating the Friedmans
The whole "recovered-memory" thing around child abuse is really troubling, especially in light of the recent Supreme Court decision about statutes of limitations. On the one hand, it's true that children are not able or willing or knowledgeable enough or powerful enough to press charges at the time of the crimes. On the other hand, memory is a tricky thing and under the spell of a psychiatric relationship and/or hypnosis, a lot of things can be uncovered that aren't really there to be uncovered.
Here's a story that goes into more detail around this new movie than you've probably seen elsewhere. I haven't see the movie, but this story is worth reading.
