Annals of Vindictiveness and Contempt:. Naming of agent 'was aimed at discrediting CIA': "The Bush administration's exposure of a clandestine Central Intelligence Agency operative was part of a campaign aimed at discrediting US intelligence agencies for not supporting White House claims that Saddam Hussein was reconstituting Iraq's nuclear weapons programme, former agency officials said yesterday.
In a rare hearing called by Senate Democratic leaders, the officials said the White House engaged in pressure and intimidation aimed at generating intelligence evidence to support the decision to make war on Iraq." —Financial Times [Follow Me Here...]

Apple's New Panther Takes Huge Leap Forward.
Although it might seem like just a decimal point, the change in Mac OSX
-- from 10.2 -- is as dramatic as the difference between a jaguar and a
panther, the respective versions' code names inside Apple. By Charles
Arthur (Independent via MyAppleMenu) [MyAppleMenu]
I installed it on my older iMac
yesterday. I haven't looked under the hood much, but on the surface
Panther is really great. The Expose tools are fantastic, and make
working with multiple apps really easy. I wonder how the Longhorne
previews we get this week will take steam out of Panther. From what
I've read, it looks to be another major breakthrough, but it is years
away. Will Apple and the Open Source crowds be able to answer
Longhorn in the interim?
