Don't Be A GoogleDork. Dan Gillmor points to a thoughtful article on search and security, published on The Register today. In it the author points out how easy it is to use Google's more advanced search features to find sensitive data left carelessly in the clear by webmasters (or, as the author puts it, by Bob in Marketing who has no idea he's even publishing to the public web). phpClasses.org: Review of Advanced PHP Programming. In one of the first reviews that I've seen of this book, phpClasses.org has posted a new summary and review of the new book - Advanced PHP Programming from SAMS by George Schlossnagle. [PHPDeveloper.org]

There are a lot of bad or at best marginal PHP books out there, and I've bought my share. This one arrived from Amazon yesterday, and I was riveted to it for most of the evening. It's a rare PHP book: one that I was very glad I bought. Most of them are big disappointments, but this one is really interesting, well written, and contains a lot of good info. For the record, the other one I use most often is, not surprisingly, O'Reilly's PHP Cookbook.
