Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Just back from the latest from Charile Kaufman. Enjoyable, with good
performances all round. Something, not sure what, was missing from the
love story, maybe we didn't get enough details from it to make it seem
as real as it needed to be; but that said I did get involved with the
characters. Carey and Winslet were excellent, this is the best I've
seen Carey since The Truman Show. Kirstin Dunston and Sam Ruffalo were
excellent and funny; Elijah Wood was underused. The New Yorker review
was right: a sex scene would hae really added a lot to the movie, and
could have been a good opportunity to learn more about the characters
plus been a terrific opportunity to exercise some of those world
disappearing tricks they pulled. Recommended
