Vaudeville's not dead
I had the pleasure of seeing a return to the days of Vaudeville last
week in Emeryville. A revue consisting of more than a dozen different
acts doing all kinds of things: climbing silks, animal impersonations,
trapeze, dancing, etc. etc. Take a look at the web site: http://www.sfvaudeville.com,
and especially watch the short videos there. What's fun is these aren't
the kinds of acts you see that often any more; they're like what I used
to see on Ed Sullivan, or maybe at a small circus. The performers are
winning, and it's all in all a fun evening. Recommended.

Lynne Cheney's lesbian romance. In 1981, future vice presidential spouse and National Endowment for the Arts-hating ideologue Lynne Cheney wrote Sisters, a novel in which the clumsy and cruel sexual appetites of a Wyoming man drove a woman to lesbianism. WhiteHouse.Org has found the novel. [Drudge Retort]

Woo Hoo!
After weeks flirting with the bottom of the pile on the Dylan Pool, I
hit the jackpot last night, and I'm #1 with my picks for songs played.
Bob played Lay, Lady, Lay, Lonesome Day Blues. I Don't Believe You, You
Ain't Goin' Nowhere, and Shooting Star, among others, and they are all
high-point songs. So check out http://pool.dylantree.com and at least until the next show on the 24th, I'm #! My nom de pool is psteve. (The 'p' is silent,)
