Junk mail filtering

All this week I've been plagued by tons of junk mail in my inbox. I'm using Apple's Mail.app mail reader, and it has been pretty good about filtering mail. This morning I finally noticed that it hasn't been filtering junk at all. I found this thread on Apple's support site. In my case, the recent 10.3.3 update had reset one of the filtering rules -- namely Apple's own rule for colorcoding mail from Apple, so that the option "stop evaluating rules" was set. So the junk filters weren't being applied. I fixed it and it looks like it works now.

Later: Wrong. The filter still doesn't run. That thread says that if you reset the thing so you lose all your training then it works again. I'm not ready to do that now, I'll see if something turns up in the next couple days.

Bush violates sanctions, sells campaign swag made in Burma. The official merchandise Web site for President George W. Bush's re-election campaign has sold clothing made in Burma, whose goods were banned by Bush from the U.S. last year to punish its military dictatorship. [Drudge Retort]

One year later. Here's a strong, balanced piece (more balanced than the one I'd write!) about what the Bush administration promised a year ago, when the invasion of Iraq began, and what's been delivered. [Quantity Over Quantity: Jimmy Guterman's 'blog]
