Bush's lies about Castro
Quote: “The dictator welcomes sex tourism. Here’s how he bragged about the industry,” said Bush. “This is his quote — ‘Cuba has the cleanest and most educated prostitutes in the world’ and ‘sex tourism is a vital source of hard currency.’” BoingBoing: It turns out that Bush's speechwriters found the quote in an undergraduate paper for Dartmouth, and they plagiarised it out of context. White House to project record deficit this year
"The White House will project soon that this year's federal deficit will exceed $420 billion, congressional aides said Tuesday, a record figure certain to ignite partisan warfare over President Bush's handling of the economy. The annual summertime analysis is expected out this Friday, said several congressional aides speaking on condition of anonymity. That would be well after the frequently ignored legal deadline of July 15." (07/27/04) [Rational Review News Digest]

Illinois Senate Nominee Speaks of Encompassing Unity

Good piece about Obama. I watched the speech a second time last night, and was as impressed then as I was the first time, maybe even more. This morning, The Wall Street Journal has on the editorial page a piece about why blacks vote Democratic at a rate greater than 9 to 1. They find the reason is: advertising!
