Halley Suitt to Produce a New Roadshow Version of "Anything Goes"
Halley Suitt, of Halley's Comment has announced plans today that she is producing and directing a new stage version of Cole Porter's American broadway hit, Anything Goes. Casting is to include: "AKMA as the Dr. Moon, Jeneane as Reno Sweeney, David Weinberger as Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, Rageboy as Billy Crocker, and Doc Searls has been asked to play the ship's captain if his time permits, .
The reason for today's hunt was an excuse "to get out of the house" and take a break from the hum-drum house chores we did most of early Sunday. Doug was getting antzy and I never need much of a push to go down there. However one of our usual reason is to scout out potential goodies for ourselves and a couple friends who collect "stuff."
First on the list are of the things we scout for at these wonderful 50's-60's pastel colored and rubber covered glasswear for my friend Meg, back in Illinois. Today we found these wonderful glasses for Meg.
However the dealer wanted too much for them. Oh well...
Meg's also looking for Mugs, pitchers and any other items. We didn't find any. However should any of you out there reading along-- find some email me Subject Meg's Glasses and let me know what you've got. We're interested.
Also this time I found another set of rubber covered glasses (below) that are something I've never seen before. These were all the same graduated color from a white to pale yellow to a wonderful grass green. There is a set of 8 there, even if you can't see the 8th one.
If anyone knows anything about who made any of these glasses or has any information on them. We'd appreciate hearing from you. We've been in love with these things since we were kids. However we are seriously lacking on any information about who made them.
For those of you who don't know... I collect RCA Nipper Dogs and Orange/Citrus/Vegetable Crate labels.
Today I lucked out by finding a nearly perfect 24 inch stuffed Nipper Dog by Dankin for $14.00. It was a steal and looks perfect with the others I have. Doug however didn't find a thing that satisifed him. Even the DeLorean Model from "Back to the Future" wasn't up to his standards.
