A picture named PALM-TREE-SM.jpgPalm Springs or Bust

Today news will be brief. I am heading out to the desert with a bunch of women to attend my annual Quilting Workshop in Palm Springs.

Why Palm Springs in August?  Because we don't know any better! No, honestly it's because we've done this desert invasion for years, so there's a tradition in going. Second we honestly enjoy one another's company. (Ages range 29-85 yrs old.) And finally it's one time of year the PS Hilton will allow us to take over the entire conference center and sew for as long and as late as we want without distraction.

So while you're home with the family this weekend, I'll be in PS, CA-- quilting, shopping and getting the spa treatment from our own massage therapists. Or I'll be sipping a cool one by the pool or whirlpool to take a break and having a wonderful time learning some great things as we pass the skills down and techniques from one generation to another-- California Style.  Pictures will follow.

If you happen to see a '79 Champagne 450SL on the way to PS with the top down. It will be me. <smile>

A picture named Hooters.jpgFlying the Friendlier Skys:  AP is reporting Hooters Chairmen, Bob Brooks is reported to have optioned to buy the recently defunct Vanguard Airlines of Kansas City. The new group will be called Hooters Air Inc. [rolling eyes and humming "Come Fly With Me...]

They have yet to commit to having the famous Hooter's Girls as flight attendants-- yet.  But I suspect once they take over, the newest excuse for the business travelers to fly Air Hooters will be... "but boss, it was the only airline I could get a flight on!"  Hopefully they will serve some of their decent BBQ.

Bext in San Diego who retails real broadcast radio gear has come up with this pocket sized FM Transmitter for the MP3, CD or other devices.  Price for base unit is US $24.99. They also have another high performance antenna for an addition $12.95.
