Turning off an old e-mail account
I will no longer be checking my old waitrose.com mailbox due to spam.
The Spam Bayes Outlook plug-in has kept things manageable, but I've received well over 3,000
spam to that account since May 2003, and only a handful of real
messages. It's time to pull the plug.
Having to dump otherwise perfectly good e-mail accounts (and notify any
of your contacts who might still want to use it) is just one of the
ways that spammers make our lives collectively more miserable, and it's
a cost that seldom seems to be mentioned in the studies of the spam
problem.
