It's not often that a piece of knitwear makes me feel sick. This is one of those times.

Demolition for 'ugliest' building. Work to demolish the Tricorn Centre, dubbed the UK's ugliest building, is due to begin on Wednesday. [BBC News | UK | UK Edition]

I have dim memories of this place from my seaside period back in the mid-80's. My mental image is of a place similar to the spaceship's cargo deck in Alien, with darkness, dripping water, menace and imminent face ripping sudden death. (Though I am a little hazy on that last one).

The place was memorably described by Prince Charles as "a carbuncle on the arse of an old friend". (Whoa. Hazy again I'm afraid).

I did wonder if the building would be listed as the best surviving example of the Boot Stamping On A Human Face Forever school of architecture, but no. It's going to be reduced to rubble and replaced with yet another generic shopping centre. Which is almost certainly an improvement. Probably.

I'm having a Radiohead kind of day
Also, I keep getting people coming to the site with Google queries like this one. I find this disturbing.
