[Garth:Radio Throat] "Aha! Having read the W3C Namespaces in XML document, it's becoming clearer to me. The best news of all is that namespaces let you add attributes, not just tags. So, an audioblog enclosure could well become:
[enclosure audioblog:duration="63.4" url="http://blah.com/blah.mp3" length="2735627" type="audio/mpeg"]*

[Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog] Long live RSS 2.0!! "I'm still learning the power of the newest version, and I'm pretty sure it can now be used to distribute information [or files] from other places, like a GNUtella network. This is the next step for me. I've been using RSS 'enclosures' since inception, with great success. Unfortunately this distribution method puts massive strain on the centralized resource that contains the file. Now a file can live anywhere, and each new download adds another distribution point. "
