No Tuna in Tampa

Parcells tells Bucs to pack sand. This is really funny. Maybe I just spend too much time following sports.

I’m a ditto head too…

No, not one of those ditto heads, but I use ditto under OsX a lot. I’ve been using it to squirt source directories, StuffIt archives, etc. back and forth from home to work and vice verse for a few months (it’s got to be an AFP mount).

I completely overlooked the fact that a bootable clone of an OsX disk can be created this way. Mike Bombich has created detailed step by step instructions and an application which does it all called Carbon Copy Cloner.

I wish I’d been doing this before last Thursday, when I nuked my world! [via MacFixit]

Cringely on Microsoft’s Security Policy

Trust me, I'm from Microsoft. The step by step history he outlines sounds harsh, but there is reason to believe that’s one very definite possibility. So now I’m a Microsoft apologist?

Looks like I’m staying…

I bought Radio today, so I’m sticking around. Now I need to figure out how to render here and echo the whole thing to my own site using rsync. As if I don’t have enough learning projects.

KPIG?

Doc is griping about RealPlayer and happened to mention KPIG.

What is the deal with KPIG? I’d never heard of it really until recently and this morning a friend from Colorado convinced me I had to listen to it. So I did, for about three hours. It’s listed under country in iTunes, but it’s not, although I don’t know WHAT to call it. I enjoyed it for a while before retreating back to the local Jazz/NPR college station (KCLU, which has a Real feed).

Frontier Doc Links

Dave welcomed Dan Bricklin and in the process linked to Matt Neuburg’s online version of the Frontier 4.2.3 manual and his series called “The Doctor Is In!”

I’m really going to need this. I was poking around this morning and realized I don’t remember the way pointers and references are done in UserTalk. Is it still called UserTalk? [Scripting News]

Near-Earth Object’s

NASA’s Near-Earth Object Program (NEO) is pretty darned interesting. This page has a pretty good overview of the program with many links to resources for those interested in keeping track.

One of the missions scheduled is called Deep Impact (more here and here). They plan to hit a comet, record the effects and hopefully learn more about the structure of the comet.

Merger oversight changes?

According to this story, the Justice Department was going to take over review of mergers in the “software, telecommunications and entertainment businesses.” That’s news to me (and to congress too!) [LA Times]
