JavaLand
I'm having a pretty good time here at JavaOne. I don't understand how all these people manage to travel and 'blog at the same time. Many interesting things to think about once I finally leave and get some time. I did get to meet some of the folks behind JBoss and it just makes me more interested in seeing them succeed. I was really looking forward to the monitoring session today, and still came out with a couple useful tidbits, but the majority of the good stuff won't be available until JDK 1.4.1. Rats. If they deliver on the promise, it will make using Java in production environments a whole lot easier. The discussion on XML Digital Signatures was a bit one sided (the presenter whose name I missed was from VeriSign) but informative.
I'm staying at the Westin St. Francis and I have to admit, I'm really enjoying their soup. Last night I had the French Onion and tonight I had Dungeness Crab and Muenster Cheese Chowder. They also server a monster Cobb Salad. They have a soup of the day so I'll have to give that a spin tomorrow.
I brought my digital camera and all I have to show for it is some shots of a very under construction Union Square. I might try and get some more shots of San Francisco tomorrow if I can find some time.
One more thing... I found out how to get WebLogic to run under OsX, if it works, I will have to write it up.
