Tired, so tired

The last three days have been absolutely exhausting.

Thursday, the packers compressed all our belongings into boxes, stacked high and towering to the ceilings. On friday, the movers loaded our life onto a huge truck and then unloaded it into our new place at a furious pace. The ceilings aren't quite as high here, so the towers are now more like walls. All in all, Delancy Street Foundation (415-957-9800) did an excellent job with our move.

Jackson's first night here, he seemed a little shaken by the whole transformation. He's out now with Karen, who graciously offered to tend to him today so that both P and I could unpack.

I spent the morning finishing the last of the move, all the odds and ends that seem to spring up like mushrooms after a good rain. I also got the cats over here... ug, what an ordeal that was. Alex and Lucy got to go in boxes, but I had to use a bag for Luca, who was none too pleased. He's hiding somewhere now, while Lucy assumes her usual defense under the bathroom fixtures and Alex scopes out the new digs and lounges in the sunlight.

I had to miss the Sho shindig, because I'm just to tired and grimy to present myself socially. To bad too, I really like this Macr. group!

Paulette has done a great job tackling the kitchen. I've made some headway in the office, but can't find some critical pieces for one of my desks. The master and front rooms are still disasters, and P wants to move some of the heavy items around to boot.

One of the most interesting moments when moving to a new place is always the first shower. Ours seems to have good pressure, and P has already re-calked the tub. But the fixtures seem a little loose, so we'll probably need to get a plumber out here to make it right.
