2004 Presidential Election

Yahoo News: "Howard Dean (news - web sites) has expanded his lead over John Kerry (news - web sites) to 22 points among likely voters in New Hampshire's Democratic presidential primary, says a poll released Friday night."

Ed Cone: "Meetups provide a new metric for the health of a campaign's grassroots."

The Daily Kos is reporting that John Kerry is opting out of public financing for the primary season. Kerry, along with Howard Dean, are the frontrunners in attracting dough.

Here's a new Gallup National Poll.

Colorado Water

Here's an article on a proposal for Arapahoe and Douglas counties to share water with Denver in wet years to help solve the South Metro area water problem, from the Rocky Mountain News [November 14, 2003, "Attorney general endorses water-swapping plan"]. From the article, "Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar, citing growing water needs in the south metro area, on Thursday endorsed an experimental plan that would allow Arapahoe and Douglas counties to tap into Denver Water's system, using surplus water supplies in wet years and returning water from underground sources in dry years. At a news conference, Salazar also called for lawmakers to create a south metro regional water authority to help unify the area's fiercely independent districts and to pass a new law that would compensate Western Slope communities from which water is diverted."
