Denver November 2004 Election
Precinct Caucuses are tomorrow. Here's some information from the Colorado Democratic party and a primer from the Rocky Mountain News [April 10, 2004, "Caucuses 101"].
Denver voters may face a large collection of ballot issues in November, according to the Rocky Mountain News [April 12, 2004, "Ballot of the bulge may loom"]. Proposals to change TABOR and Amendment 23 lead the way. There may be a proposal for Denver residents to approve RTD's FastTracks and some legislators want to fix immigration and allow school prayer. Peter Coors will announce his run for the Republican nomination for Ben Nighthorse Campbell's U.S. Senate seat on Tuesday, according to the Rocky Mountain News [April 12, 2004, "Coors will enter race on Tuesday"].
Update: Dan O'Bryant is out as a candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, according to e-mail from the Rocky Mountain News.
Update: Also from the Rocky, "Owens switches support to Coors." The Govenor is endorsing Peter Coors as Mr. Coors attempts a run for Ben Nighthorse Campbell's seat in Congress. Colorado is shaping up as an interesting Senate race. Some see this year's state contest as a potential pickup in the fight for a majority in the Senate.
