Mars last night, kinda:

A polaroid photograph of mars above the house across the street looks like a bright star. Streaks from headlights are seen on the road below. The silhouette of an italian cypress tree stands to the right of the planet.

Monsoon clouds filled the sky, with small holes appearing only long enough to spot the planet, but not long enough to take a photograph or draw a picture.

Remember the old Star Trek where the Enterprise got eaten by a giant paramecium? Every time the crew saw a hole and tried to fly out, it closed up just when they got underway.

It was just like that.
