Last night's Mars

There was a lot of atmospheric haze, clouds actually, but I could see Mars and a few stars, so I pulled out the Schwaar to check it out. When I first looked, all I could see was an orange ball with an outlined white spot on the top. I waited for the sky to clear a bit, then put a #23 red filter on the Nagler and checked it out at 300X.

There's a bit of 'drawing distortion' on the left edge where a drop of sweat fell off my forehead onto the paper.
