Four candidates, nine days:

Carol Braun is still on the ballot in Arizona, and I'm, somewhat inclined to vote for her even though she's withdrawn, but then so is Lyndon LaRouche, so no, I'll pick one from the four above to vote for a week from Tuesday.

Was that a great Wilhelm Dean did for us last week, or what? That alone would have won my vote, but then Alicia or Dianna or some Dean-chic called me the very next day, leaving a message that I should vote Dean because she did. If it weren't for his telemarketing scheme I could get behind him.

I wish they would come debate in Arizona. I'd like to hear more about what Wesley Clark thinks he can do other than protect the country better than the current president, and maybe hear Dennis Kucinich elaborate on his plan, besides say "go read my website". I mean who has time to read non-blog websites???

And of course "Ah jes lahk tuh hare thet John Edwards tawk at awl." I mean really - I'm not making fun. Southern drawl is English enunciation at it's finest.

Helmut Newton, the surrealist and often erotic photographer, died in Los Angeles last night. Newton's vision was once unique with his stark black and white vision of a world populated by beautiful detached people. Whenever you see this type of imagery, it is in imitation of Newton, who began his career in 1961 as a fashion photographer with the French magazine, Vogue.

This is a terrible loss to the world of contemporary art. [from the Washington Post]
