According to My Brother owners of mayor media outlets have denounced a plot to destroy their offices tonight. I can't see what could the Chávez government gain by this... But we have seen so much stupidity that it may happen!
Today the oil company (PDVSA) conflict have deepened in a way that I don't fully understand, it seems that the president of PDVSA fired some of the higher ups and that produced an immediate reaction from the PDVSA workers. I don't know if it is all levels of workers or just the executives, but everybody is pointing at this event as significant.
On other news, I've received a gazillion emails asking me to sign an online petition to George W. Bush to help Venezuela... This is wrong on so many levels that I don't know where to start... Let's make a list:
- Who makes the petition? How do they authenticate themselves? It could just be a plot to collect emails for Spam...
- What exactly are they asking Bush to do? Send the Marines? How last century, man!
- Let's go over this again... What has Bush done that makes anyone think he wants to help Venezuela?
- On second thought... What has Bush done that makes anyone think he can help Venezuela?
- On third thought... What has Bush done?
