Impossible to find - I was trying to research any organisation in Sydney offering a  "Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment." Think I could find one? No way.

Anyone know any providers?

Telstra comes to the party - Telstra have recently announced that they will now offer rebates for ADSL outages. Yeah. I have written about this numerous times in the past - what I'd really like is a dial up account to use when ADSL goes down... Oh well.

Here's their message:

Telstra is pleased to inform you that we will be introducing the Telstra BigPond broadband ADSL Customer Service Level Guarantee to take effect from July 1, 2002.

The guarantee means that once introduced, if the availability of your Telstra BigPond broadband ADSL network falls below 99 percent in any month, you will automatically receive a rebate on your monthly subscription fee in the following month's bill.  Telstra will define network availability in the updated terms and conditions.

The guarantee will operate in three tiers:
·       monthly ADSL network availability below 99 percent but equal to or greater than 97 percent entitles you to a 10 percent rebate on your monthly subscription fee.
·       monthly ADSL network availability below 97 percent but equal to or greater than 94 percent entitles you to a 20 percent rebate on your monthly subscription fee.
·       monthly ADSL network availability below 94 percent entitles you to a 50 percent rebate on your monthly subscription fee.

Telstra does not require that you be actually inconvenienced by the non-availability of the ADSL network for you to receive a rebate under the Guarantee. Nor do we require that you report an outage to claim a rebate. Further, this Guarantee is in addition to your existing customer rights.

Prior to the commencement of the Guarantee on 1 July, Telstra will provide further details relating to how it will measure ADSL network availability and the exclusions from the Guarantee.   For example, the Guarantee relates to ADSL network connectivity.  It will not cover non-availability due to scheduled upgrades or problems with modems, the copper network or slow connections.  The Guarantee will also not cover the availability of applications and services provided by Telstra BigPond such as mail, web-hosting, third party content, the usage meter or surfing.

For more information about this guarantee, please visit the Telstra BigPond

While the guarantee threshold is at 99 percent availability, Telstra does not view 99 percent as a target network availability level.  The improvement of the Telstra BigPond ADSL network is still a high priority within Telstra and we are working to consistently provide greater than 99 percent network availability to all customers.

We trust this initiative further improves  your broadband experience and we thank you for your continued support of Telstra BigPond.
