Why Apple should support .NET - read more- (Someone should stress that there is a difference between MS and Mono. Apple could support Mono quite easily I think.)

I have a Bachelors Degree in Photography. This goes back a few years to when I was a bit more naive. Today I recognized an interesting similarity between my photography and my programming careers. After spending 3-4 years getting my photography degree, it was hard for me to take pictures "just for fun". The essence of why I got involved with this activity had been undermined by the very education that was supposed to liberate it. I knew how to control light and how to produce great shots but all of that required preparation and setup work which over shadowed and affected the spontaneous nature of the process. It removed the spontaneity and discovery elements from the activity, and in the end did impact the creative process. Lately I've noticed similar symptoms in my programming. Knowing that a good basic architecture for a web application requires certain foundation cornerstones, I find myself very concerned about the difference between Microsoft .NET and Java/J2EE . Specifically how this sometimes laborious process of creating a program using either MS or Java technology has taken such a different turn - especially under MS.NET. Yet all this concern is so detail oriented that in threatens to undermine the creative aspects of programming. Why should I care that MS is selling OO-Junkfood? If I were a proponent of a given methodology it might be different. Or look at it this way - when ODBC first appeared were people equally as concerned? Probably not.
