Thestar.com/Canada loses gold medal to Russia Anton Volchenkov's goal 6:51 into the third period lifted Russia to a 5-4 win and the gold medal as Canada wasted a pair of two-goal leads at the world junior hockey championships today.
Argh! Oh well. A fine showing nonetheless.

BBC News | UK | What is Newslog Dave Winer, who produces the longest-running weblog on the internet, Scripting News, defines them as being "a kind of a continual tour, with a human guide who you get to know".
I know that this shouldn't matter but there's something about seeing the BBC's chief political correspondent starting a weblog which gives the whole phenom a certain legitimacy. And it's nice to see Dave getting the nod he deserves.

Interesting looking website/magazine. I've never heard of them before. Stumbled upon it from a link my Arts & Culture subscription in Radio. The article was on the unprecedented popularity of Handel operas.
