On the Mark
Oooh. Kind of excited to have found Mark Wood's blog this evening. He pokes his way through Radio trying to make it work the way he wants it to. And he's thinking out loud as he goes. The best part is that he writes well. I hope I have time to read more of his site. Subscribing to his feed now.

::Lifli Software::: "You can also find them faster now because iBlog helps you organize them efficiently and provides super fast search functionality. iBlog lets you manage your most precious asset:
Your Thoughts and Ideas."Very interesting. An OS X blogging tool. I quoted the bit above because that is a key point for me. The problem with Radio is that there's no simple way to keep track of everything. I have Kit installed which is a big help but it's quite cumbersome and slow. UserLand seems to think that Google is the answer to all your searching needs. I want to search my blog on my machine. Not sure if iBlog does that but it's caught my interest.

The Players Behind the Motown Sound, Recognized at Last. A film turns the spotlight on the Funk Brothers, long in the shadows of soul music legends. By Fred Goodman. [New York Times: Arts]Great! I'm going to have to see this. Just listening to the players on Marvin Gaye's 'What's Goin' On?' blows my mind. Omigod. I just read the article and it specifically mentions their pride in this particular album. Right on.

Unusually, this is actually me writing and not a quoted news story from elsewhere.
I've been thinking about how to slim down the size of my Radio site. I post a lot of news items to various categories. What I've realized is that the main news page gets all postings and archives them all via the calendar. These means that for the category pages themselves there's probably not much to be gained by rendering them as html and having them rewrite everything. These could be handled using the viewrss marcro.
One key thing to notice when using this macro . . . most of the documentation on the site shows the syntax for Manila sites. It's slightly different for Radio sites. Equal signs in the former, full colons in the latter. All the variables must be wrapped in quotes for Radio. And of course you need to use the correct macro syntax with the % signs and angle brackets.
