Brian Whitaker of The Guardian argues that the fighting on Israeli’s northern border is the fault of Israeli Prime Minter Ariel Sharon. This ignores the actions of the Hezbollah in the kidnap / murder of Sgt. Adi Avitan, Staff Sgt. Binyamin Avraham, Staff Sgt. Omar Souad of Salma on October 7, 2000, prior to his election. He states that the rocket attacks against Israel are harmless, ignoring a whole family that were injured when a rocket hit their home in Rajar.

More importantly is the question, if Israel withdraws to United Nations sanctioned borders as in Lebanon and the attacks continue why would Israel have any confidence that any further withdraws with not result in the same thing. You this Brian Whitaker has no answers, any hatred of Israel.

MSNBC.com has a much more accurate account of the situation.
