As I noted previously the Sci Fi Channel planned mini-series, On the Seventh Day has a plot that shared many similarity’s with Phillip Jose Farmer’s Dayworld. Locus Online reports that Farmer's agency, Ralph Vicinanza, has issued a notice to USA Network protesting this apparent copyright infringement. They also note that Sci Fi Channel is developing Farmer’s Riverworld series for television.

Egypt’s Prime Minister is trying to backpedal from comments he made the suggest Egypt would go to war against Israel if they were paid $100 billion.
Apparently being anti-Semitic is done for free.

AMD’s 64 bit processor, formerly codenamed Sledgehammer, will be called the Opteron. Microsoft has announced 64 bit support for the processor, while Linux support already exists.
Who thinks up these names?
