The New York Times has a favourable review Michael B. Oren’s book, SIX DAYS OF WAR June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East. A key point made in the review is that the capture of the West Bank was accidental. Israel did not intend to capture the area but was forced to as Jordan repeatedly pressed forward in ill-advised attacks as it was lied to about the course of the war by the Soviet Union and Arab nations. People accusing Israel of being expansionist and greedy will no doubt ignore this fact. 11:18:35 PM ![]() |

Israeli troops releasing Palestinian prisoners without informing the prisoners’ families and troops sleeping in refrigerated trucks to cool down were two key ingredients of the rumors of massacres in the Jenin refugee camp. Continued lying by Palestinian officals was also a key factor. Where is the British and French papers’ followup stories on what actually happened? 11:06:04 PM ![]() |
