They don’t get it

The UK’s Independent struggles to understand why Jews still move to Israel.

Until they understand why, I suggest The Independent stop writing stories about Israel. They simply don’t understand enough to have the moral authority to make any comments about Israel and the issues it faces.

Following referrers to my blog I discovered that stories disappear from the National Post after a time. This is a poor thing to do. They should publish stories under permanent URLs and later if they desire charge access to them.

While they seemed to have indexed all of my pages, I have yet to get any hits from Alltheweb.com's search engine portal.

Do they have cute logos that change during the holidays like Google?

Bus Scheme

Betty Disero is a Toronto City Councilor in addition to the chair of the Toronto Transit Commission. However her scheme to get around the council’s wishes to retain bus bays on streets is a direct attack on the council’s decisions. The Toronto Star states her plan is as follows:

On the contentious bus bay issue, Disero would pull a little sleight of hand.

Another long-time TTC dream, the concept of filling in bus bays, has often been rejected by city politicians in the face of angry objections from motorists.

Disero, however, says she'd avoid such a fight by keeping the bays — which force buses to fight their way back into traffic — as they are. "All we'd have to do is move the bus stops back," she says.

If stop poles were moved to the foot of the bays, Disero says, buses would never have to enter them in the first place.

Disero should respect the people’s wishes on this matter.
