Global Confusion The Globe and Mail calls Hebrew University in Jerusalem "The university is technically a settlement, as the land on which it was built was seized by Israel after the 1967 war" and state it was "opened in 1925, but the war of 1948 cut the university off from the main Israeli-held part of Jerusalem".
