Charles Johnson of LGF rips apart the Arab News’ crude attempts at attacking he scholarship of Michael B. Oren’s landmark study, Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East. A LGF reader gave link to a very good interview of Oren about the book, through it does read at parts as if the interviewer had no clue at all about Middle Eastern history (most likely he did but he had to ask the questions for the audience). 11:18:52 PM ![]() |
Conjose Today is the start of the 60th World Science Fiction Convention, in San Jose. Part of the convention is the awarding of the Hugo Awards for best Science Fiction and Fantasy as voted upon by the convention attendees. I hope that Lois McMaster Bujold’s The Curse of Chalion wins best novel. It would be her fifth Hugo Award. She also has two Nebula awards which are voted on by Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA). 10:55:41 PM ![]() |
