Lynne Jones, British backbencher for stupidity

I wrote a letter to British MP Lynne Jones about this asking her to prove her allegations when Honest Reporting first reported it. They have followed up on it since. I also got her stock letter. From Honest Reporting:

It seems that eTurboNews is not the only website that published the outrageous rape story (see http://www.honestreporting.com/Critiques/2002/68_libel.asp). Lynne Jones, a member of British Parliament, also posted the story on her website (http://www.poptel.org.uk/lynne.jones).

Jones, who bemoans the fact that many people "accused me of being anti-Semitic," later removed the article after receiving the following report from the Israeli human rights group, B'Tselem:

"We conducted a thorough investigation into the incident described. Our investigation revealed that the story is a fabrication. There is no Razook family in Bethlehem, but there are four Zarouk families. B'Tselem has contacted all four of them -- none of which have ever heard of such an incident. We have also contacted the head of the Church mentioned in the e-mail, as well as the Mayor of Bethlehem -- they too have not heard about such a case..."

A Slashdot poster discovered the Toronto .NET User Group and immediately all the Slashdot anti-MS posters accused the group of being a MS front as they were shocked that anyone would want to use MS software.

I’m going to check out this site, thanks Slashdot.

If the Northern Alliance massacred Taliban prisoners, is the United States responsible? Are US Special Forces war criminals for doing nothing while their Northern Alliance allies murdered Taliban prisoners by locking them in shipping containers in the desert sun? These are questions that the US public should want answered, no matter if it hurts.

More ruthless than a squadron of smart bomb equipped stealth fighters and more destructive than a 2,000-pound bomb is the US legal practice.

American Jews remain concerned about Israel’s image in the US and are taking steps including ad campaigns and contacting newspaper editors to voice their concerns.

Fortunately Israel doesn’t have nearly the tough road ahead as the suicide bomb crazed Palestinians in retaining or gaining US support.
