"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

Oh, Poindexter, oh Pointy Pointy.
Twenty years in the jointy jointy.

[10:55:39 PM]
Bushlette said Al Qaeda was "on the run". Apparently he meant Al Qaeda was so busy planning all the bombings that they never had time to sit still.

[8:25:25 PM]
I guess El Busho was misquoted.... He must've said "Make the pile higher" (emphasis added) -- referring to totalitarian extremist Republican propaganda bullshit. (Bushlette was quoted as saying: "Make the pie higher", which makes no sense.)

[4:43:14 PM]
But seriously, "intelligence" on individuals must not be used for ordinary criminal trials. This is fundamental. There is no reasonable possibility of democratic oversight: the spooks can deliver criminal information on anyone they choose. The only appropriate guideline is that "intelligence" is *never* given over to criminal investigators.

Even this perspective is optimistic: "intelligence" used known forgeries and inaccurate information to "prove" the need for conquering Iraq. How would you like Rummy's goon-squad delivering falsified "intelligence" about domestic political figures?

[1:09:02 PM]
"Embedded corporate robber-barons."

"Where's the breach?"

"Republican corps tything to the party."

[10:30:51 AM]
"I wanted to bludgeon her with a tire iron. That's what I wanted to do." --Michael Graham, vile Republican hate-monger

[10:26:50 AM]
"They're legislative terrorists and their leaving today is a weapon of mass obstruction, blocking hundreds of pieces of legislation." --Dan Branch, vile Republican hate-monger

[10:01:05 AM]
In the news this morning....

Two Iraqi trailers are bio weapons factories, according to US "intelligence". They say they've eliminated any other explanation. Um. As if any other explanation would be acceptable to their masters?

US "intelligence" gave us the urgent need to conquer Iraq to protect our "homeland" from WMD. Where's the breach? "Intelligence" coming from "official" sources can't be trusted any more than any other propaganda.

"Intelligence" claims an Al Qaeda cell in Iran was behind the Saudi bombings. I laughed.

A defector claims North Korea is selling heroin and other drugs to make a quick buck. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.

We predict that tomorrow "intelligence" will report that Syria is harboring pedophiles, or conserving oil, or something equally heinous.

But the funniest of all was the article on the Total Information Awareness money laundering scam. The official news item is that the agency is changing its name to sound less scary. "Total" information awareness seemed to upset people. In order to save money, they didn't change the name to "Partial Information Awareness". They picked "Terrorist Information Awareness" so "TIA" on their business cards and logo is still correct.

Admiral Poindexter -- the treasonous bastard who was giving high-tech weapons to America's enemies... which happened to be illegal at the time -- was also afraid someone might claim the "P" stood for "Poindexter". Admiral Pointy is trying to keep a low profile, since protesters publicized a lot of Pointy's personal information -- his address, and satellite photos of his house, for instance.

The TIA article also let the game slip -- TIA has issued new contracts to create privacy functionality in their software. TIA is mostly a way to channel more money into Republican-owned businesses that tythe to the party.

The final knee-slapper of the article was a TIA-booster claiming it won't trample constitutional rights. You can't trample what isn't there, after all. As General Ashcroft says, "You have the right to remain silent." (And that's about it.)

[9:35:44 AM]
"No one has had the guts to say it: Our Braveheart war hero President caved in to the terrorists. Pulling our troops out of Saudi Arabia was Al-Qaeda demand Number One. So, while our Dear President is doing his "Top Gun" landing on the aircraft carrier, he's ordering the most cowardly, craven, gutless act by a Commander in Chief in memory: effectively getting on bended knee to Osama bin Laden and saying, 'Your wish is my command.'" --Greg Palast

[12:04:17 AM]
Don't get mad, get even.

We're coming for the thieving bastards. They're rich enough that most of them won't go to jail. Even Nixon didn't go to jail. Bushlette's going down. He's not nearly stable enough to survive Elba-ing. Don't be surprised if the pretzel gets him, next time. Cheney's ticker will give out a couple years after his complete disgrace. Figure Rumsfeld for a Reagan -- Alzheimer's, the great equalizer. I figure Ari for a Neil Bush -- no charges, under the radar... who gives a f.
