News - Cheney implies that Iraq may already have nuclear
weapons:
Comment - On CNN, "Far from envisioning a peaceful solution, Cheney leveled
a serious new allegation that implied Hussein already has nuclear weapons.
"We know he's been absolutely devoted to trying to acquire nuclear weapons,
and we believe he has, in fact, reconstituted nuclear weapons," Cheney said.
I'm still skeptical. If Hussein had 'em, he'd have threatened us by now.
Where's the advantage to him keeping the bomb a secret? As I noted in a
previous blog, a nuclear bomb is far more valuable as a threat (see North
Korea) than as an actual battlefield weapon.

Comment - Among other things, it's suggested that interested people ride
their bikes, skateboards or roller blades to various intersections in the
city and wave anti-war signs.
Another tactic: drive your car downtown and drive real slow in order to
block traffic. The following is from the Web site:
"This approach might provide some of us older people, in particular, with a
more viable method for prolonged participation." --From the person who
started this idea and said this was used by the movement that toppled
Slobadan Milosevic.
My reaction: no, it was President Clinton ordering a U.S. bombing campaign
that toppled Milosevic, not slow-moving cars in downtown Belgrade.
What I'm fascinated with is how the Internet is being used to help plan and
coordinate the anti-war actions.
