Doing Something Smart for Once
As some people have noted, I tend to have the attention span of a rabid gnat and focus on things for like 3 minutes at a time. Now I could characterize that as "Serious Need for Ritalin" or "the attention deficit that is caused by IM" or I could just be whacked. Whatever. Still there are times when I do think ahead and get things right. We're redoing (heck -- doing) the Feedster corporate web site and I took the time to dig through the net for the HiveLogic email encoder routines and then add that to our cheap, dumb, homegrown cms (CDHC) so that any page with an email address is automatically encoded to a Javascript routine that generates the mailto and conceals the username @ domain.com stuff. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. Of course I should admit that I had already manually entered all the mailto links so I had to then remove them all -- see opening of this paragraph I guess.
Now since HiveLogic seems to have pulled the downloadable source from the net, I dug it out of Pivot which does look interesting. Thanks guys.

CSS Assistance Requested
Here's an interesting problem that I'm wondering if CSS can address -- displaying nicely formatted message text when the mouse is over an image or actually **better** when the right mouse button is clicked on an image. Here's the context:
- When I created Feedster Images, I added a message that is always displayed pointing out that "its rude to steal bandwidth".
- I'm tired of seeing the message and I think its kind of ugly.
- Can the message be displayed by setting a CSS class attribute on the A tag that links to the destination of the image?
Phil Ringnalda does a beautiful job with this by formatting the CSS of his title attribute on this page. That's the kind of thing I'd like to do but I don't want the message text multiple times as Phil would have it with his approach. Can this go in the CSS?
Thoughts and suggestions welcome. I humbly bow the superior CSS knowledge of others. I am so not worthy in this context.

Feedster Update
Just an update on the internationalization process -- things are going quite well. The conversion of the database to a Unicode format is actually going quite well. It is a bit slower than we had planned but that's part of the learning process and I just did one of my first Unicode queries and it worked correctly. Well almost to be really honest but at least I understand the issues.
I hope to have this all wrapped up for tomorrow. That will also enable a bunch of new features.
