New Orleans Food Fight - Last Sunday the local paper wrote about the brouhaha surrounding the firing of a popular waiter at a very popular New Orleans restaurant. Galatoires fired the waiter because he was twice accused of sexual harrasment. Now the story has hit the national news, and it's in FindLaw no less. I guess it's a legal story of sorts. The head of our firm, Jack Gordon, eats at Galatoires about four times a week. But he's not complaining, and in fact had a response to the people who loved Gilbert (the waiter) and claimed they would boycott the restaurant. Oh, apparently, the Gilbert lovers have a website (and you can view the original newspaper article there).
One thing you have to understand about New Orleans, if you don't live here. We have a crummy education system, and our economy is struggling, but we've got time to get worked up about the staffing decisions of the fine restaurants. Well, some of us have time for that. I've got time to laugh about it, but now it's time to do something productive.

Al Sharpton. Johnny Cochran. And Michael Jackson - "The funny thing about Sharpton is that sometimes he says something that's true. It doesn't happen often, and when it happens, you are so used to hearing him lie that sometimes even when what he says is something you know is true, you find yourself doubting it." via [Bill Altreuter]

Internet Writer, where can I sue you? - If you've libeled me with something you've written I'd like to do it in my home town, and make you come here. It's convenient for me, and costly for you. But, one court says I can't do that. Let's hope other courts agree.
