Ok, I've got a brand new Top 11 List to test your funny bone. In a recent article on NewsForge, Frank Sfalanga points out that those of us who use open source should do more than just consume software...we should invest our own time and talents in support of "the cause." I fully agree, however, I just haven't gotten around to it just yet. So, in the spirit of giving, here's this week's Top 11 question:

Top 11 reasons you haven't contributing to an Open Source project yet.

My gut response would be "I wrote the source code, but you see, there was this big, mean looking dog, and..."

Send in your top reason, and if it's insane, funny, or a bit of both, we'll publish it in an upcoming issue of Network Computing.

First, let me say thanks to all those who submitted suggestions for our latest Top 11 List on the top rejected codenames for Mac OS 10.2 (Jaguar). We were quite impressed. Watch for the best of the best in print at the end of the month. But for now, here are a few of our favorites.

  • Toy Story III -- by Bill Reveal
  • Jagular -- by Darryl Howard
  • Plan 9 from OS X -- by Matthew 'Fringe' Duhan
