I found this in an email from Bishop Myers.
The Spirit blows wherever he pleases, and the one led by the Spirit has to hand himself over to the Spirit to be blown wherever the Spirit wishes. He does not himself perceive the plans and intentions of the Spirit. He can only allow things to happen. Every new animation by the Spirit begets new life,
guaranteed by life itself, which is the Spirit. If a believer has a mission, it can happen that God shows him tasks that are to be done and goals to be reached, and then through the Spirit he demands other things from the one who obeys that seem to be hardly compatible with what went before, as if the direction were changed, pointing elsewhere. But the one who prays feels under obedience in whatever case: in receiving the mission, in carrying it out and in the apparent eclipse of the mission. For the Father in the Spirit brings the missions of the faithful into conformity with that of the Son; he does not want to make their way too easy by revealing the goal or the hour beforehand.

This is a good overview of weblogging tools. After reading it, I'll stick with Radio, although the other tools like Blogger or Movable Type may better fit other people's needs. I like Radio's local database, hosting service (assuming they fix their server problems), and news aggregator. I also appreciate its extensibility, giving me something to play with in my spare time. ;)

Radio UserLand has introduced me to several interesting blogs, and the built in News Aggregator lets me closely monitor them. However, I've got to be careful that weblog reading doesn't suck up all of my time, keeping me from reading the books that are piling up around me. Blogs have their place, and the instant gratification they provide is compelling, but they can't match the depth of a good book.

I ran across this link from the Surf*Mind*Musings weblog. I met Bruce Sterling along with William Gibson at some Cyberpunk thing hosted by Omni Magazine at the Caravan of Dreams jazz club in Ft. Worth. I believe that both Omni Magazine and the Caravan of Dreams are no longer in business, but at least Bruce is still churning out strange but witty material.
