The RIAA has been trying to get legistation passed that would allow them to surreptitiously access anyone's computer without permission if they thought that computer might be sharing copyrighted material. In retaliation to this clearly illegal activity, IWT, an Internet Service Provider, will block all access to the RIAA from its network [here].

Wave will also actively seek out attempts by the RIAA to thwart this policy and apply additional filters to protect our customers' data.

This just exemplifies the fact that the RIAA should stick to recording. There is no way a stodgy company like the RIAA can compete with hackers in the hacker's own domain. Any attempt that the RIAA makes to try and subvert file sharing will be quickly countered by the technology community. For better or for worse, file sharing is here to stay.
