I caught a glimpse of a debate on SOAP Builders about DIME vs. SwA.  Microsoft released their SOAP Toolkit v3.0 Beta with DIME support, but a rumor is floating around that there is no plan to support SwA in the future.

Is it just me or does the dream of interop seem very tenuous?  We all want to do more with SOAP, but we have to constantly balance the goal of provide a rich distributed programming model, with the goal of providing interoperability.  In my mind, interop is the number one goal, otherwise I wouldn't be that interested in SOAP in the first place!

Is WS-I really doing anything yet?  Or is SOAP Builders the only interoperability effort right now?
