Fortune: "Katz spends all his time making money from patents rather than selling an actual product or a service." [Scripting News]

I have absolutely no reservation whatsoever in saying that software patents should be illegal.  Period.  No ifs, ands, or buts.  A recent survey of patent lawyers suggests that between 60 and 90 percent of software patents are not valid.  The USPTO has failed, pure and simple, and the only solution is to take software patents away from them altogether.
