Do we really need this?
Watching some of the announcements coming out of the Consumer Electronics Show, and wondering who actually needs this stuff. I mean, sports scores from my wristwatch? You gotta be kidding.
All you need to know - on your wrist. Microsoft chairman Bill Gates shows off smart watches that can tell us the latest news and weather, as well as the time. [BBC News | Technology | UK Edition]
Now, give me a reasonably priced PVR combined with a DVD recorder and wireless stations for each television so I can play back anywhere in the house--that I might buy. But it can't have the Microsoft name on it, or be hampered with DRM restrictions. Make it easy to archive, easy to view, and it'll sell. Sony might have a clue.

Back from the dead
Well, it felt very nearly like it. Two weeks of nasty bronchitis just knocked me for a loop. I've been sick before, but never like this. But the antibiotics have kicked in, and the other drugs help. Might even be up to a field trip tomorrow.
