Congratulations to Keith Instone for a well-deserved award from UPA for his stellar work on the inaugural World Usability Day and its supporting Web site:

My UPA service award. . . "UPA Usability Service Award is awarded to Keith Instone...for your leadership and tireless work in creating the first World Usability Day, and your innovative work on the event web sites. 2006"   [Keith Instone's site - IA, UX, Toledo, IBM, and less.]

See the photos on Keith's site to vicariously enjoy the festivities.

World Usability Day 2006 is coming up in November. Both STC and SIGCHI are making plans to encourage participation by their members. I was going to lead the STC effort until the "incident" of last April derailed some of my plans. I nonetheless encourage your participation. Get together with some local organizations and cook up an event that will get some press and public attention.
