Did I mention that Alana Davis is the headliner on Saturday night after the Converge blog conference? See, this is a weekend deal. There's the journalism confab hosted by the A&T journalism department on Friday, which is looking quite interesting. Friday night, a cookout for conference attendees in the blog-crazed Aycock neighborhood, organized by blog-crazed neighbors David Hoggard, David Wharton, and Matt Gross. Also on Friday night, four venues host live music in downtown Greensboro. Then on Saturday, also at A&T, we're putting on a show behind the barn and calling it a blog conference. And on Saturday night, Ms. Davis will perform at Solaris. Sunday, we sleep late. The conferences are free, and if you have a conference badge the music is, too. Troublemaker quits his blog, then unquits. "The tone of the Troublemaker will change to a more rough and direct approach and I want to apologize in advance to anyone offended." I haven't commented on City Councilman Tom Phillips taking a blog hiatus, because Tom never blogged enough to really become an online fixture in Greensboro. He was often very good when he did -- not the best listener in the world, but his strong opinions carried weight.
