I have water in my ears from swim practice. I used to have this often when I was in school. I bend way over sideways and give my head a little shake to try and get that water out, like swimmers everywhere. After 10 years or so, it felt kinda nice to have that feeling again of water sloshing around in my inner ear.
The pace clock, the smell of chlorine on my skin, the view of the ceiling sliding by while doing backstroke. The mouthful of water you get when you breathe as someone swims by in the other direction. It feels great to climb back inside these memories.
After swimming for a while, I forget that I am swimming and my thoughts carry me bodily to another place and time, could be past or future, real or imagined, but I leave the isolation tank / swimming pool and live another life while my body is chugging along.
Also, I can sleep again, like a baby. I don't even have to try.
