The Mayor of Manitowoc
knows what time it is.

MANITOWOC — Mayor Kevin Crawford had harsh words for Newell-Rubbermaid at Monday’s Common Council meeting, as he asked the Common Council to pass a resolution about the negative impact the North American Free Trade Agreement has had on the area.

As the parent company for the Mirro Company, which will lay off 882 of its workers to move production to Mexico, Newell-Rubbermaid “has done nothing for the city of Manitowoc, the county of Manitowoc and the state of Wisconsin,” Crawford said.  Full Story

My question is: 

  • If all manufacturing is done in China
  • and all professional services are done in India
  • and we let Mexican laborers drive trucks through the US
  • and everything from gas-meter reading to retail checkout lines becomes automated

Then where the hell is everyone going to work?

bathing the elderly?
