Alec Hart and Sundance For CinemaMinima.com At Sundance everyone always asks .... Alec Hart By Alec Hart. Park City, Utah USA (Cinema Minima) — Whenever I talk about the Sundance Film Festival, people always ask if Robert Redford is there. This is my third year. I saw him the first two years and I'm sure I'll see him this year. I read today that 36,000 people came to the festival last year. Wouldn't you come around if you were the guy that started that? There are lots of people who complain about the festival but I'd be dang proud if I'd done that in my lifetime! The Sundance Kid People always want to know if you see lots of celebrities. Yes, many other celebrities. The weirdest thing about seeing celebrities at Sundance is that they just look like normal people. And you can't gawk at them or go ask them for autographs because it would just feel too awkward. Sundance is a completely different film experience. It isn't like Entertainment Tonight (although they are a big sponsor of the festival). It's more like going to a trade show. The people who come are in the BUSINESS of making movies. Coming to Sundance makes me feel like making movies is something I can do. That's why I like to come. Plus, the films are amazing and the contacts are excellent.
