Time for an Upgrade...
Ok people. Lets look at the facts. The current line of space craft we use, the space shuttle, was designed and built in the late 1970's. You remember the 70's right? Polyester? Computers as big as a house. Ford Pintos. The gas crisis.
NASA has been asking for years for a more up to date, better equipped, better designed launch vehicle. The shuttles are old, out of date, ill equipped, and have more miles than every car in the united states added together will ever have.
The reality is, it's time to upgrade. New software. New computers. A new design. Better composite materials. A better bird. What better way to bring the economy back to life than to revive our quest for interstellar exploration?
Oh. One last note on this rant. Let's NOT give the contract to the lowest bidder this time. Ok?
