It could be a piece of a cheap Styrofoam ice chest. It could be packing material that once served as a home computer's in-transit shock absorber. Or it could be a chunk of debris from the space shuttle Columbia. [ModBee

A letter to the ISP's...
Ok ISP's take note, AOL may be number one, but maybe being number one isn't always good. Do what AOL hasn't, stop and ask your clients what they want. Then follow through with it.

Though AOL says they dropped their banner ad campaign, before we changed ISP's you were forced to manually go into your preferences and OPT OUT else you would be greeted by advertisements before you even heard the familar "you've got mail". What's worse is, while signing off you would be forced to read more ad's while desperately searching for the miniscule "close" link on the ad.

The other bad thing is, AOL insists on trying to send you email, US Post, and telephone advertisements by default. If you're not carefull when signing up you could be forced to submit to spam, junk mail, and telemarketers.

And you wonder what you did wrong?

First SETI and now medical research...
Scientists want your PCs to fight smallpox

It's the ultimate needle-in-the-haystack search, but a coalition of scientists and technology companies think they may be able to make headway on a cure for smallpox using computer screen savers.[CNN]

Slammer worm wants my computer. SETI wants my computer. Doctors want my computer. Xupiter's browser bar wants my computer. Code Red wants my computer. Always seems like everyone wants to use my computer. When do I get to use it?

My bad...
Got an email (woo hoo!) from Erik over at Grumpus Maximus pointing out my error in a previous post. Though it is indeed copyrighted, software is licensed for use. My bad.

Thanks for catching that Erik. I'm glad to see that someone is paying attention.
