Another Gorgeous Summer Day It is 78 degrees at 9:00 p.m. The average temp for today is 65.

I've been reading The Art of Possibility and really enjoying it. It has some implications for teaching but mostly just everyday living and investing.

How often do we stand convinced of the truth of our early memories, forgetting that they are but assessments made by a child? We can replace the narratives that hold us back by inventing wiser stories, free from childish fears, and in doing so disperse long-held psychological stumbling blocks.

I wish it were as easy to do as reading the paragraph!

I settled on a game called I am a contribution. Unlike success and failure, contribution has no other side. It is not arrived at by comparison. …"How will I be a contribution today?" …Nothing was ever quite good enough.

Worth thinking about in terms of ourselves, our children, and our students.

It has been way too hot for very many of the weighty thoughts. But that is what reading then gardening do!
